'MAKING
MUSIC IN TORBAY' The editor of 'Devon Musical Notes' has spent 14 years compiling a book of the history
of the South Devon Choir over 140 years. It provides an insight into the history, working and management of a large classical
music choral society. Although a large section of the text relates directly to the Choir, many other amusing snippets
are included as well as information relating to music events in the Torbay area over this period. Committee members
of other similar groups (they do not need to be in South Devon) may find some of the events and ideas, not all successful,
of help and value to their own organisation. The book should be available from the end of February 2012 price £9.50
