 CONCERT SEASON 2009/10

Saturday 27 March 2010 7.30pm - Christ Church, Paignton - 'Music for Lent' (Rossini 'Stabat Mater', Faure 'Requiem' & 'Cantique de Jean Racine')

Soloists: Lorna Anderson (soprano); Rebecca Smith (mezzo-soprano); David Watkin-Holmes (tenor); Gavin Davies (bass/baritone).       Organist: Christopher Sears.

Admission price (unreserved) Adults £8; Students (under 19) free.

Saturday 19 June 2010 7.00pm - Torquay Town Hall Assembly Rooms - 'Maritime Proms' (V Williams' 'A Sea Symphony', Dyson's 'Four Songs for Sailors', 'HMS Pinafore' extracts, H Wood's 'Fantasia on British Sea Songs'', 'Jerusalem' and Elgar's 'Pomp & Circulstance March No 1 "Land of Hope & Glory"') over 200 performers. 

Soloists: Catherine Hamilton (Soprano); Niall Hoskin (Bass/Baritone) plus members of the North Devon Choral Society and the Festival Orchestra

Admission price (unreserved) £13 in advance; £15 at the door (£3 is included in both ticket prices and will be donated to support the RNLI national fund); Students (under 19) free.

The concert will be repeated on Sunday afternoon 20 June 2010 at 3.30pm in the Barnstaple Pannier Market - another unique experience.

An invitation is being extended, particularly to singers who have sung the 'Sea Symphony' before, to join us for either or both of the events in June. You will be expected to attend a minimum number of rehearsals in North or South Devon. Please contact the Choir Secretary for more details.

Subject to demand, one or two coaches will be booked from Torbay, leaving about 9.30am, for Barnstaple. The coach(es) will leave again from Barnstaple about 5.30pm.

Saturday, 27 November 2010 7.00pm - All Saints Church, Cary Park, Babbacombe, Torquay - Gounod 'St Cecilia Mass', Duruffle 'Requiem' .
Saturday 16 April 2011 7.30pm - Central Church, Torquay - Mozart 'Requiem Mass', 'Ave Verum' and 'Solemn Vespers' with professional soloists and the Festival Orchestra.
Saturday 2 July 2011 7.30pm - Central Church, Torquay - Edward German 'Tom Jones' with professional soloists and a baroque orchestra.
